Despite the freezing temperatures, we’ve gone ahead and turned our kitchen into a greenhouse; sprouting herbs, eggplant, tomatoes and even one pumpkin seed for good measure. It’s been incredibly fun to see the progress and peek in on previously bare pots of soil. Every time we do this it just amazes me that life can grow so rapidly from a tiny seed.
This little pocket-sized guide is a handy reference to all of the lovely things in nature that grow. The aquamarine spine initially caught my eye at the library and then the cover reminded me a lot of a particular pumpkin seed experiment we have growing in the windowsill. Once we brought it home and opened it up, we quickly realized the gorgeous diagrams along with the short blurbs on each page made for a very enjoyable and easy to digest lesson on life and the growth of many different living things.
It’s going to be a great growing season, especially now that my little ladies are prepared and eager to help care for our little seedlings.🌱
