There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Chick

Happy Easter friends! I hope by now you’ve devoured your fair share of Cadbury eggs. We read this wacky book twice yesterday and again before bed in anticipation for the Easter Bunny’s arrival and it did not disappoint. The silly story, repetition, and funny rhyming words were just what my girls needed before nodding off. Plus the old lady in the story is a good friend of ours, we have quite a few of her other seasonal books.

We loved the bold, printed appearance of the illustrations so much that we decided to make a few simple cardboard stamps to round out our Easter crafts for the season. These were super simple and assembled with cardboard and hot glue. We peeled back a layer of the cardboard to expose these neat wavy textures and then cut out shapes. We also added some petals to the flower using hot glue. Honestly though, I think I like the look of the used stamps better than the actual imprint. Oh well…
