I saw a lot of #bookstagram posts about this title around Valentine’s Day, but we didn’t actually get to read our copy until after the heart holiday. To our surprise, the characters and message actually work just as well as a springtime book too, so it’s a win for everyone!
Follow along in the seasons of change as a little girl rescues and raises a downy little duckling in the city. All the love she shows for her new friend is so reminiscent of having a newborn and raising children during their many phases of life.
We felt all sorts of emotions as the girl lets her grown up duck baby go, knowing it’s right. The ending is the best, but also check out the beautiful yellow cover hiding behind the dust jacket!
If you own this book, are you keeping it on the shelf through spring time?
Love Is by Diane Adams, illustrated by Claire Keane.
