Two favorites on overcoming change

These two books have helped us overcome loads of change and apprehension this school year. Thank goodness for stories that empower my children and make them smile at the same time.

The Koala Who Could encourages readers to face change and new situations with a brave face. “Sometimes a little change can open your world to BIG possibilities.” Kevin the Koala is a genuine and sweet character illustrated beautifully with rhyming text and stunning illustrations.

Dear Panda is series of pen pal letters between Florence and her new neighbor, Panda. Their budding friendship makes Florence at ease after moving and enrolling at a new school, worrying that she won’t make any friends. It’s a heartwarming tale about finding true friends and starting over.

The Koala Who Could by Rachel Bright, illustrated by Jim Field.

Dear Panda by Miriam Latimer.
