This bright little board book has been well-loved by all three of my little ladies. We enjoy it because it appeals to our current range of reading levels and attention spans. My kindergartener, Miss I, practices many of her sight words and can read just about the entire book without help! Miss A, my preschooler, loves to work on counting each apple and spotting colors. It’s a short, silly tale of animals trying to outdo one another by balancing apples on their heads. 🍎
Miss A and I got inspired to try some simple yet fun apple prints while her big sisters were at school. We cut an apple through the middle, preserving the star in the center, and then used a brush to paint and stamp. The stem on one half of the apple ended up being the perfect handle for her little hands.
