Originally smitten with the colors and illustrations on the covers, it wasn’t until I opened one up that I realized how perfect these were to introduce our little ladies to the world of classic literature. Many of the BabyLit books are tiny little primers that focus on colors, numbers, language and other topics pulled directly from the classics.
Our favorite book in the series happens to be The Wonderful Wizard of Oz: A BabyLit Colors Primer. Inside the sturdy book you’ll find a color for each page, beautifully illustrated with characters and elements from the novel (and film). They’re quick to read for those busy little people in your lives, but very captivating with all of the small details you can search out. We are big i-spy fans, so little games of “where is the heart?” or “where is the green hat?” make this book go a long way.
There are so many titles to choose from and new ones being published constantly. I love finding the perfect title to add to Miss A’s collection for special holidays like Christmas, Valentine’s Day or in her Easter Basket—the options are endless! And the best part is, when we’re not reading them together, we get to display them all on her book ledges for a fun pop of color and whimsy in her bedroom.
